While You're Here
While at Dromoland you’ll enjoy many on-site attractions – from boating on the lake to archery classes, falconry, or simply enjoying a stroll around the beautiful estate. And here in the heart of County Clare, on the Wild Atlantic Way, there’s a wealth of sightseeing at hand. The magnificent Cliffs of Moher are a short drive away and are Ireland’s favourite visitor attraction. They have faced the Atlantic for over 350 million years, stretching for 8km (5 miles) as the crow flies and reaching 214m (702 feet) in height at their highest point. With views across to the Aran Islands, Galway Bay and Connemara, they will simply take your breath away. Other must-sees in the area include the wild and beautiful Burren, as well as the famous village of Bunratty with its signature Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, and some excellent shopping and restaurants.
The bustling and quaint capital town of County Clare, Ennis, is only 16 mins away. This medieval town, with its cobbled streets, winding streets and lanes is the perfect place to wander around and sight-see – from the old Ennis Friary to the beautiful Ennis Cathedral and Clare Museum. Ennis is also known as the Boutique Capital of Ireland – with many independent, stylish and quirky shops.
